Yes, I know all this stuff looks so analog when you have all the improvements of Photoshop as so. I’ve being doing this way for quite a while and honestly, it works fine for me. And foremost important, the customer can have a better idea of the final result.
And, while I draw it; I’m thinking of how I will lay it on skin. So, the colors, contrast and whatever “technically” comes through the door (or from the brain) have only a fine tattoo look in mind.

いつもの様に、僕はまず写真を撮ってプリントします。そのプリント用紙に直接下絵を描き、大まかなイメージを決めておきます。
場合によってはフリーハンド、又は下絵を紙に描き直し肌に張ります。
フリーハンドにはこだわっていません。出来上がったタトゥーがうまく仕上がる事が重要なんで。
